Profile Information
I am from Mill Valley, California, a small town nine miles north of San Francisco.
I am starting my third year as Assistant Principal at Drake High School, a school of 1,000 students that serves an affluent community in Marin County. I began my career 20 years ago as a high school social studies teacher in San Francisco, and became an Assistant Principal for curriculum and instruction during my last three years there. I changed Districts to be closer to my family, and am still experiencing the culture shock that came with switching to a completely urban environment to a completely suburban one.
I am half-way through a masters degree at the University of Illinois in the Curriculum, Technology and Education Reform program and have learned an amazing amount about technology, learning and the future of education.
I live with my husband, Mike, and our two sons, Charlie (12) and Joe (9). I also love to hike, swim, camp and otherwise enjoy our relatively mild climate and beautiful outdoor surroundings here on the west coast.
